Greatness on the Inside.

Project Overview
Upcycle Art CIC collaborated with local residents, schools, and environmental groups to create a large-scale public sculpture entirely from discarded household items, plastic waste, and scrap metal. The goal was to raise awareness of sustainability while showcasing the power of creativity in reimagining waste…..

Our Approach
We began with a series of community workshops, educating participants on the environmental impact of single-use materials. Working together, we co-designed a sculpture titled “The Phoenix of Renewal”, symbolizing regeneration and transformation. All materials were sourced from donation drives and recycling centers.

The sculpture was constructed over 6 weeks and now stands as a permanent fixture in Mill Park, serving as both a landmark and a catalyst for ongoing environmental education.

Key Contributions

  • Hosted 8 workshops with local schools and residents
  • Partnered with two local recycling firms
  • Trained 15 youth volunteers in upcycled art techniques
  • Integrated solar-powered lighting into the sculpture for nighttime visibility

What We Learned
This project reaffirmed our belief that art can drive environmental action and community unity. It also showed how accessible, inclusive art-making can spark long-term change and pride in shared spaces.
